Care Properties:
Bacall Development is a preffered developer for three National Retail Chains in five states, which include Michigan, New York, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Currently, Bacall Development has over 30 sites approved, under construction, or completed in these states.
Bacall Development develops and manages several neighborhood shopping centers
in Michigan and South Carolina, ranging in size from 10,000
to 150,000 square feet. All of these centers are operating profitably,
with a mix of national “credit” tenants as well
as many locally owned businesses. Significant repositioning
of older centers was instituted by the company to attain this
level of success. Additionally, two convenience store anchored centers have
been operating in the same urban locations for over forty
years.
Bacall Development is actively
involved in the redevelopment of neighborhood retail centers
in the City of Detroit, working successfully with neighborhood
groups and political organizations to accomplish this mission.

Bacall
Development strives to locate and develop prime locations
for all national retail tenants. The
Members of Bacall Development are Eddie Bacall and Jacob Bacall.
Eddie and Jacob Bacall started out in the Drug stores business
in 1979. After several years of owning and operating a number
of convenience stores they acquired the real estate in which
their businesses were located. Since
then they have gone on to develop, own and manage hotels,
congregate care facilities, retail shopping centers, office
complexes.
Retail: Developers, owners and operators of free standing single-tennant and in-line neighborhood centers. The majority of these centers are anchored by national tenants.
Office:
Owners and managers of several suburban office properties
in southeast Michigan, ranging in size from 15,000 to 30,000
square feet. All of these office properties are operating
profitably, housing many local offices of major corporations.
Hotel:
Purchased and redeveloped a distressed but well located 100
room Quality Inn Hotel in 1995. This East Lansing, Michigan
property was completely renovated and repositioned through
an aggressive marketing plan. Sales surpassed projections
and this project was sold to another family-owned partnership
in 1999.
Congregate Care: Purchased and redeveloped an 86 unit congregate care
facility in 1994. The partners were the general contractors on this project. This Riverview, Michigan
development has been profitable, operating at a high occupancy level since acquisition.
The company continues to oversee all management operations,
supervising a professional staff of fifteen at this location.
Several senior housing projects are being analyzed for future
development.
